In the wake of the Lane Kiffin Era, the Derek Dooley Debacle, and failing to become more than “Champions of Life” under Butch Jones, Tennessee is staking its future with Jeremy Pruitt. He inherits a program that has recruited well during the past five years but has little on-field success to show for its efforts. Since 2013, UT is 34-29 and coming off the program’s first eight-loss season.

Jeremy Pruitt steps to the podium as head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers: “My expectation is to win every game we play.” Well, that’s certainly a 180 from “Champions of Life.” Strap it on, folks; the culture change begins now. … Maybe most important, when Pruitt was asked if Tennessee can get back to a championship level: “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think we could get there.” A’ight.
Phil Fulmer returns as AD

Tennessee again showed its underbelly during the sh*tshow that was John Currie trying to get someone’s – anyone’s – name on the dotted line. You may have caught some of the Volshevik revolution on social media. … And now that Currie has been replaced by Phil Fulmer, everyone who could not understand why the fan base was up in arms should have a seat and STFU.
